Cost: £69 for the weekend - four dives
Minimum Qualification Level: Open Water
We've booked to go back to Plymouth for another "Winter Warmer". The sea temperature isn't as high in March, but with an average of 9.5 degrees it is warmer than inlands sites at that time of year and the visibility can be a lot better than later in the year.
The deal is £65 for 2 days diving, which includes dives within Plymouth Sound. If the weather is good and the option is available then we can agree as a boat to pay £5 extra per head fuel surcharge to go out to sites such as Scylla or JEL. Last year the weather was great and the sea was flat on our weekend so we got to do that, but it's just down to luck.
This can be a great weekend to blow off the winter blues and get back into the water properly.
Many of you will have dived with South West Diving previously, so you know the setup - you can stay in the Mountbatten Centre or hotel next door - you only have to load your gear down one pontoon to get to the boats, and air fills are available from the shop next to the Mountbatten Centre only 100m away (and they have trolleys). Everything is within easy reach for a relaxing weekend.
You will need two cylinders as the boat will not be returning to shore between dives
Divers: Jim, Martin, Sarah, Clive, Paul, Susan, Julio, Andrew R
Full weekend booking is recommended as it would be a long way to travel for a day! Accommodation in the Mountbatten Centre is available as B&B for £50 per twin room per night. The hotel next door is normally slightly more. You have the option to travel early Saturday and stay only one night or travel Friday evening. So 2 nights B&B plus the boat is £119 based on 2 sharing.
