Guest Speaker - Mark Powell
Wednesday 1st March 2017 - 8pm
The Britannic was the sister ship to the Titanic and sank in 1917 just a few years after her more famous sister. Last year a group of international technical divers were involved in an expedition to dive the ship in the centenary of her sinking. At 120m the Britannic is a challenging dive but is considered to be one of the very best wreck dives in the world. Technical diving instructor Mark Powell was part of the exclusive team that dived the Britannic and this talk will cover the history of the ship as well as looking at the logistics involved in planning and executing challenging dives such as this. Mark will also be showing some of the stunning images and video that was captured on this expedition.
