26th May, Portland long weekend: As per Morag’s email earlier this week, there has been a new dive posted this week, some dive sites not visited for a while by the club. Check it out in the dive calendar and get your name down!
16th June, Scilly's dive trip: Still places available so visit the dive calander for more details. Diving is with Moonshadow Charters. Scilly’s offers great UK diving so don’t miss out.
Diving for Non-Members
I thought it worth reminding everybody of the club policy for diving by non-members.
Firstly, let me say that we welcome guest divers and will offer places where possible, not least in the hope that they will join the club! However, we must place the interests of our members first.
We are not able reserve places for non-members until shortly before the date of the dive to ensure that all paid up members have the greatest opportunity to dive with the club.
The dive organisers will use their discretion as to when to ‘release’ places to non- members, who will then be expected to pay in full (including the non-member premium) at time of booking.
If you know of a non-member who wants to join us on a dive, please register their interest with the dive organiser who will follow up at a suitable time if a place is likely to be available. This will probably be in the month leading up to the dive.
We think this is the fairest way to protect members’ rights but also open up diving to buddies outside of the club.
Michelle is no longer able to continue as our Club Secretary, so if any of you are interested in helping out the committee in this role please contact me or one of the committee members. Thanks to Michelle for the time and effort put into the role over the last year and a bit.
Have a great Christmas and New Year and see you at the photo competition on Jan 15th.
