It was great to see so many of you at the Miranda Krestovnikof club night where we had over 100 people attend and enjoy a great evening. If you have any feedback on the night please comment on the facebook page – we welcome all input to help plan any similar evenings in future.
Photos are up on the club Gallery and on Facebook.
Since the last meeting we have also enjoyed the Christmas party at Zero Degrees and Scuba Santas at Chepstow NDAC – quite a busy end of year! I put together a video of Scuba Santas for those interested – NDAC even arranged a chimney for us (keep watching the video, it’s towards the end).
The January meeting will be the 2nd Wednesday (11th Jan) to allow you to recover from the festivities . Please come along as we will be running through the dive calendar for 2012 and we need you input on a number of dives that we have under consideration for the first half of the year. If you are an Open Water diver your view is especially important to us as a number of the dives are proposed to cater for OW depth ranges. We will have dive organisers talking on their dives and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have before booking your trip.
Please also start sorting our your entries for the February photo competition on Wednesday 1st Feb. The competition will be run along the same lines as previous years, as described below.
Once again, the time has come to show off your photographic prowess. Each club member is entitled to enter one photo in each of the following 5 categories:
* Marine Life
* Humour (diving related)
All pictures (except for humour) must be underwater photos, and must have been taken by the submitting club member during 2011.
Minor processing is allowed (e.g. cropping, colour balancing, etc.) and pictures should be in digital format (preferably .jpg)
If you are in doubt as to whether your pictures are eligible, just ask!
Email your entries to Roger Selwyn at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday 27th January
All members attending the meeting will be able to vote for their favourite in each category. Prizes will be awarded for the favourite in each, and the winning photos will be published on the club website and Facebook page.
It only remains for me to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year and I look forward to seeing you all at our 2012 diving and social events.
Chairman, The Diving Club
