The UK diving season is now upon us, with some members already having sampled British coastal waters, a lucky few have even managed to get in some warm water diving.  Some had to settle for some inland diving and braved a somewhat windy and rainy day to dust off the cobwebs and test some gear in Vobster, the burgers and hot chocolate was essential that day.

The January RDP event was very well received, we are very pleased to be able to offer another varied diving programme for this year, with a mixture of old favourites and some new charters.

New Members

It’s great to see lots of new faces at the club this year, on behalf of everyone at the club I would like to welcome all the new members who joined the club this year and hope you will enjoy both the diving and the social activities that the club has to offer.

Tonight’s Social

I hope you will manage to come to tonight’s speaker night, Bubble Trouble, with Dr Oliver Firth.  I have been to one of Dr Firth’s talks and I can assure you its great fun and very informative.  It’s one not to be missed.

The Photo Competition

The photo competition was held in February, I trust all the members who managed to come to the event had a good time.  It’s very pleasing to see that the overall standard of entries is getting higher each year, especially in the newcomer category.  I would like to thank all the members who entered the competition and congratulate all the winners.  In particular Benjamin Selwyn who won the overall category for the second year running, well done.

I hope you will agree that like last year there is a great programme of diving on offer this year.  There has been a good level of bookings for up and coming dives, of particular note is the Liner weekend in August and the West Bay dives in June, so don’t miss out and book early.  Have a look at the details on the website and contact the dive organiser.

The next inland dive weekend is tentatively been proposed to be Stoney Cove, however, if you would like to come to the next inland dive and would prefer either NDAC or Vobster please contact the dive organiser and register your preference.

Happy diving.
